I live in the DC metro area and wanted to post quick and let you all know that the East half of the Vietnam wall is now closed for replacement of the lighting. In mid-August, the East half is scheduled to re-open and the West half will be closed through October. Wanted to give you all a heads up in case you're planning a trip to DC that included viewing the Wall.

Sorry for being so inquisative.

Al -
Sorry it's been so long... I haven't been back to this message board in awhile and just saw your post from 7/04 today.
Anyway, I say "would-be" because my husband's father (CWO John Mercer) died before my husband was born. I guess he's still my father-in-law; however, I (nor my husband, who is also John M. Mercer) never had the opportunity to meet him. My husband was born eight months after his father passed away.
Again, sorry for the delayed response.
Kirstin Mercer
