Accident Summary:
After completed gunnery run, the master caution light flashed on and off. The pilot decided to return to the airfield when the engine chip detector light came on. The pilot reduced RPM and the low RPM light came on and during approach all power was lost. Made a hard landing causing the aircraft to bounce and roll on its right side. The tail boom was cut off and the aircraft slid 50 feet before stopping. Engine failure due to failure of power turbine retaining nut
